EGRS Gypsum Recycling System

The EGRS Gypsum Recycling System is innovative in design, yet simple in concept. The simplicity of design makes it easy to operate, flexible and adaptable. The quality of engineering combined with the wealth of knowledge supplied by the partners give it the lowest cost per ton processed on the market today. The concept allows for systems to be designed to the customer’s exact requirements, be they large static plants with a capacity in excess of 25 ton/hr or smaller semi-mobile and mobile systems with a capacity in excess of
5 ton/hr.

The EGRS Gypsum Recycling System processes waste gypsum and plaster board, removes the paper and contaminants and produces a powder allowing it to be reused in the plaster board industry, agri-industry and other industries, e.g. cement & moulding industry. The system can be used by any industry that has waste gypsum products and is suitable for the domestic and worldwide market. Plants are currently in operation in Europe and Australia processing plaster board, wet gypsum waste and gypsum blocks.

Most countries have now imposed either restrictions or bans on the landfilling of gypsum waste streams and many are mandating through regulations that this material be separated and recycled. The EGRS Gypsum Recycling System allows operators to meet with current environmental legislation and eliminates the need for gypsum waste to go to landfill. The system can provide in excess of 95% recovery of a gypsum waste stream while resolving the issues of high moisture content and contamination to achieve a very high quality product, sized to the customer’s requirements. The high level of quality achieved allows the product to be re-used, thus reducing pressure on raw material resources and the environmental impact of mining operations. Other uses for recycled gypsum are also possible in the Agricultural, Horticultural and Cement industries to name a few.

The gypsum waste stream varies from country to country and from customer to customer, as do the product requirements of the end user. The EGRS Gypsum Recycling System is designed to address these issues in its ability to deal with wet material, contaminated material, gypsum plates and off cuts, gypsum blocks and waste gypsum plaster. The system is also modular in its concept so the units can be enlarged as capacity demand increases. Other innovations include options to address pre-sorting issues and generating product from the gypsum paper extracted by the process.
